Thai Yoga Massage

The origins of Thai yoga massage (TYM) date back over 2500 years.  Rooted in the Indian healing traditions it was based on the practices of yoga and Ayurveda. TYM combines stretches/assisted yoga poses and rhythmic compression along energy meridians known as the “Sen lines” and is often described as “lazy man’s yoga.  Contrary to popular preconceptions TYM does not require the receiver to be flexible, athletic or strong and it does not require prior experience with yoga.

What to expect with Thai yoga massage

Expect a deeply relaxing and rejuvenating experience.  Thai massage is performed on a thick comfortable mat on the floor.  You should wear loose comfortable clothing - a long sleeve shirt in the winter and loose fitting or stretchy pants.  The therapist uses gentle compression and stretching techniques moving your body into various positions without any effort on your part.  The therapist may utilize their hands, elbows, knees or feet throughout the session
